Kauaʻi County, Hawaii

Kauaʻi County is a county located in the  state of Hawaiʻi. The county was formed in 1905 and consists of the islands of Kaʻula, Lehua, Niʻihau and Kauaʻi. The county seat is Līhuʻe. According to a census done in 2010 by the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a population of 67,091 and a total area of 1,266 square miles, of which 646 square miles is water and 620 square miles is land. The county is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. Kauaʻi County borders Honolulu County to the southeast.

The mission of the Kauaʻi County Clerk is to serve the Kauaʻi County Council in its legislative function; to provide open, accessible, fair, and secure election services; and to provide county departments with quality document reproduction services. To effectively perform its duties, the office if the clerk is divided into the Council Services Division and Elections Division. The Council Services Division is further subdivided into Research, Records Management, Secretarial Assistants, and Support Services. The records management division is responsible for filing and maintaining all county records.
