Glynn County, Georgia

Glynn County is located in the state of Georgia. The county is one of the original eight counties in the state created on February 5, 1777, and named after John Glynn, a member of the British House of Commons. Brunswick is the largest city in the county and also the county seat. According to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010, the county has a population of approximately 79,626 people and a total area of 585 square miles, of which 165 square miles is water and 420 square miles is land. Glynn County borders the following counties: McIntosh County to the north, Camden County to the southwest, Brantley County to the west, and Wayne County to the northwest.

The Glynn County Clerk is charged with the responsibility of maintaining a complete and permanent record of documents and minutes from the county commission. As a result, the county clerk attends meetings of the Board of Commissioners and maintains and publishes its proceedings. As the official records keeper for the county, the clerk oversees the county’s records center.
