Fulton County is located in the state of Georgia. The county was created on December 20, 1853, and named after Hamilton Fulton, a surveyor for the Western and Atlantic Railroad. Atlanta is the largest city in the county and also the county seat. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a population of approximately 920,581 people, making it the most populous county in Georgia.
