Bulloch County, Georgia

Bulloch County is located in the state of Georgia. The county was created from St. Phillip’s Parish on February 8, 1796, and named after Archibald Bulloch, a South Carolina native who served as Provincial Governor of Georgia. Statesboro is the largest city in the county and also the county seat. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a population of approximately 70,219 people and a total area of 689 square miles, of which 16 square miles is water and 673 square miles is land. Bulloch County borders the following counties: Screven County to the north, Effingham County to the east, Bryan County to the southeast, Evans County to the southwest, Candler County to the west, Emanuel County to the northwest, and  Jenkins County to the north-northwest.
