Volusia County is a county located in the state of Florida. The county was formed in December 29, 1854. Named after the community of Volusia, located in northwestern Volusia County, the county seat is DeLand and it has a population of 500800 as of 2013. The county has a total area of 1432.44 square miles, with its land area encompassing 1101.03 square miles, and its water area 331.4 square miles. The county consists of 29 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 32174 recorded as the one with the largest population. Moreover, Volusia County borders the following counties: Flagler County, FL to the north; Brevard County and Orange County, FL to the south; Lake County, FL to the west; Marion County and Putnam County, FL to the northwest, and; Seminole County, FL to the southwest.

Volusia County Clerk Information

The Volusia County Property Appraiser is responsible for identifying, locating, and fairly valuing all property, both real and personal, within the county for tax purposes. The Property Appraiser also tracks ownership changes; maintains maps of parcel boundaries; keeps descriptions of buildings and property characteristics up to date; accepts and approves applications from individuals eligible for exemptions and other forms of property tax relief; and, most importantly, analyzes trends in sales prices, construction costs, and rents to best estimate the value of all assessable property.

Court Clerk Information
The Clerk records and maintains the Official Records of Volusia County and serves both the County and Circuit Courts and as the custodian of the official court records. The Clerk has many duties and responsibilities, including recording property transactions, attending and supporting all court proceedings, maintaining official court records and providing access to those records as permitted by law, assisting victims of domestic abuse, processing child support payments, collecting court fees and fines, administering court-ordered sales, and processing marriage and passport applications.

Case searches are available for Circuit Civil, County Civil, Family Law, Probate, and Criminal case records. To view specific, detailed case records for all case types, use the Case Inquiry to search with Name or Case Number data. Some documents must be requested and reviewed by a Clerk before they can be released for online viewing. Of course, some case types and documents are nonpublic and may not be viewed.
Non-Criminal Reports are daily reports are generated for new suits filed in Circuit and County cases. Daily files remain available for approximately 30 calendar days. Criminal arrest information is available daily consisting of 24 hour arrest data of individuals arrested and booked into the Branch Jail during the previous 24 hours. Citation records consist of detailed citation, statute information, violation status and account information for non-criminal traffic violations. Searches are generally performed using last name and first name, or citation identification.
Official records consist of documents relating to property transactions (such as deeds and mortgages), court-ordered judgments (such as restitution for victims of crime), marriages, divorces, power of attorney and probate (wills and estates.) The records available online consist of released records only. The term “released” means the records have been recorded, indexed, verified and released for general public viewing.
Tax deed information records consist of current properties available for sale at the next Courthouse Tax Deed Auction. Lands Available for Taxes lists current land where there are no bidders during Tax Deed Auctions.
