Suwannee County is located in the state of Florida. The county was formed in December 21, 1858 and named after the Suwannee River. The county seat is Live Oak. As of 2013, the county has a population of 43734. The county has a total area of 692 square miles, 689 square miles of which is land, and 3.7 square miles is water. The Property Appraiser of Suwannee County is charged with placing a fair and equitable market value on every parcel of property both real estate and tangible in the county. Other responsibilities of the Property Appraiser include the administration of exemptions (homestead, widows, widowers, blind, disability and total exemptions), maintenance of property ownership records, and maintaining aerial photographs of the county.

Pursuant to provisions of the Florida Constitution, which have governed the people for over 150 years, the role of the Clerk of Courts has been established in three main areas;
