Palm Beach County, Florida

Palm Beach County is located in the state of Florida; it was formed on April 30, 1909 and named after Palm Beach, one of the county’s oldest settlements. West Palm Beach is the largest city in the county and also the county seat. According to a census done by the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a population of approximately 1,320,134 people and a total area of 2,383 square miles. It is the second-largest county in Florida by land area and third-largest by total area.

Public records in the county can be accessed in person by visiting the clerk’s office, by mail, or by doing a background check online. To do a public records search online, you will have to visit the Palm Beach County Clerk Website. The official record available on the website consists of computerized index and links to digital images of documents dating back to 1968; however, marriage records listings date back to 1909.  While on the website, click on the relevant link to access the records that are available. The website also has the fee schedule applicable when requesting public records.

The other ways to obtain public records are by mail or visiting the clerk’s office in person. While visiting the clerk’s office, you will have to submit a written request to access records. The written request can also be mailed to the clerk’s office, along with the applicable fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope.
