Franklin County is located in the state of Florida. The county was formed in February 8, 1832 and named after Benjamin Franklin. The county seat is Apalachicola. As of 2013, the county has a population of 11598. The county has a total area of 1026 square miles, 535 square miles of which is land, and 492 square miles is water.
