Escambia County is located in the state of Florida. Named after Escambia River, the county was formed in July 21, 1821 and its county seat is Pensacola. The county has a total population of 305817, as of 2013, with its area spanning 875 square miles (land area being 656 square miles, while water area being 218 square miles). Escambia County borders the following counties: Escambia County, AL to the north; Santa Rosa County, FL to the east, and; Baldwin County, AL to the west.
Escambia County Clerk Information
The Escambia County Property Appraiser is primarily responsible for identifying, locating, and valuing all property within the county for ad valorem tax purposes. He is also responsible for administering exemptions, mapping all parcels and classifying agricultural lands. Being custodian of certain county records, he must maintain property record cards, subdivision plats, ownership maps, sales data records and prior tax rolls. From these records, one can access our files, determine building size, a description of its components, and property characteristics.
The Property Appraiser’s website offers a real estate search, as well as a tangible property search. The real estate search is a comprehensive search facility with several parameters to search from, like location address, owner name, and 16-digit reference number. An advanced search criteria is also available to help narrow down your search. The search yields results where each result can be shown its card to show more information about it. The tangible property search works similarly.

Court Clerk Information
The Clerk of Court is a vital part of the local court system, responsible for the coordination of jurors, swearing in court witnesses and recording evidence presented at trial. Any fines, fees or assessments collected by the Clerk are distributed to state and local governments according to law. The Clerk’s Office has the duty of maintaining and preserving the official documents and records of the county’s rich history. In recent years, the Clerk has embraced technology to provide residents with greater and more efficient access to these documents.
A myriad of public records are available for searching at the Clerk of Court. Official records can be searched through name, document, case number, book and page, consideration, and record date. Electronic court records can also be accessed from the site. Marriage licenses can also be searched, with search parameters including both parties’ names, among others.
The Public Records Center Division provides records management services for the Escambia County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller and the Board of County Commissioners.
