Brevard County, Florida

Brevard County, popularly known as the “Space Coast”, is located on east central Florida’s Atlantic coast. The nickname comes from the presence of the John F. Kennedy Space Center on Cape Canaveral. The county is also home to Patrick Air Force Base, situated on the barrier island south of Cocoa Beach. Although Titusville is the official county seat, a new county administration complex was built at Viera in 1989, putting county offices closer to the center of the area.

The Brevard County Clerk is the recorder of all instruments/documents authorized to be recorded in one general series of “Official Records” books. The county clerk records and indexes a number of documents, which in most cases are related to real estate. Documents recorded and maintained by the county clerk include but are not limited to certificates of military discharge, declarations of domicile, bills of sale, judgments, declarations of condominium, subdivision plats, surveys, contracts, affidavits, deeds, mortgages, and liens.

Copies of public records can be obtained by doing a background check online or by visiting the clerk’s office in person during business hours. To do a public records search online, you will have to visit the Brevard County Clerk Website.
