The Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder is the Chief Election Official of the County. The County Clerk and Recorder is responsible for voter registration, voter information, and administering all kinds of elections in the county including primary, general, and county elections. The County Clerk and Recorder also issues marriage licenses, civil union certificates, and motor vehicle titling and registrations. The County Clerk and Recorder is also responsible to record, index, and archives public documents related to real property transfers, marriages, deeds of trust, liens, plats and others transactions. The recording Department includes recorded documents that date back to November 1977 to present. The recording fee has been fixed at $13.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each additional page.
