Lincoln County is located in the U.S. state of Colorado. The county was formed in 1889 and named after Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States. The county seat is Hugo. Lincoln County Clerk and Recorder Office Information
The Clerk and Recorder’s Office is responsible for issuing and recording marriage licenses, registering and titling motor vehicles, registration renewals, issuance of temporary permits, printing of duplicate titles, registration of Special Mobile Machinery (SMM), etc. The County Clerk and Recorder is also the Chief Election Official of the county and is responsible for registering voters and holding all primary, general and county elections. The County Clerk and Recorder also records documents such as sale and purchase of property, UCC Financing Statements, affidavits, oil and gas documents, marriage licenses, military discharge papers, etc. for public records purpose.
