Grand County is located in the U.S. state of Colorado. The county was formed in 1874 and named after the Grand River which originates in the county. The county seat is Hot Sulphur Springs. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 14,289 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,870 square miles, of which 1,846 square miles is land and 23 square miles is water. Grand County borders the following counties: Larimer County to the northeast; Gilpin County to the east; Boulder County to the east; Clear Creek County to the southeast; Summit County to the south; Eagle County to the southwest; Jackson County to the north; and Routt County to the west. Grand County Records Division Information

The Records Division of the Grand County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for processing, maintaining, retrieving, and distributing information and copies of reports/records for the public and to all those concerned according to federal and state statutes. If you want a record, you need to submit an online Records Request Form. The completed form should be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to 970-725-3227, or brought to the Records Division office. You need to enter your name, address, date of birth, state, city, zip code, cell phone number, what type of information you are looking for, etc. Records requests are processed within three business days but may take longer depending on the availability of the requested reports. The records processing and search fee is $5 for records up to 10 pages and $0.25 for each additional page.
