Teller County is located in the U.S. state of Colorado. The county was formed in 1899 and named after Henry Moore Teller, a U.S. Senator from Colorado and United States Secretary of the Interior. The county seat is Cripple Creek. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 23,275 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 559 square miles, of which 557 square miles is land and 1.9 square miles is water. Teller County borders the following counties: Douglas County to the north; Jefferson County to the north; El Paso County to the east; Fremont County to the south; and Park County to the west.
