Arapahoe County is located in the U.S. state of Colorado. The county was formed in 1861 and named after the Arapaho Native American tribe. The county seat is Aurora. The services provided by the Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder’s Office include, but are not limited to, issuing marriage licenses, civil union licenses, liquor licenses, motor vehicle registrations, titling of motor vehicles, issuing birth/death certificates, and recording documents. The County Clerk and Recorder also serves as a Clerk for the Board of Commissioners. The County Clerk is also the chief election official of the county and is responsible for voter registrations and administering all elections in the county including primary, general, and special district elections. The recording fee depends on the type of documents that will be recorded. For instance, for real estate and other standard documents, it is $13.00 for the first page and $5.00 for each additional page pertaining to the document.
