Joe Canciamilla is the Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder as of 2015; his office is responsible for maintaining the records of the county and all agencies, boards, and commissions created by the county’s Board of Supervisors.

Generally, the public can access all county public records unless there is a statute that exempts them from disclosure. A partial list of records that may be exempt from disclosure is provided under the California Government Code section 6254. Some of the records that are exempted include:
