Carroll County, Arkansas Overview

Located in the state of Arkansas, Carroll County has a population of about 27,446, according to the US Census Bureau. The county has dual county seats in Berryville and Eureka Springs; however, Berryville is the largest community. Carroll County is Arkansas’s 26th county, formed on November 1, 1833, and named after Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last surviving signer of the United States Declaration of Independence. The county has a total area of 639 square miles, most of which is land at 630 square miles and the remaining 8.7 is water. Some of the county’s borders against Missouri counties of Stone to the north, Taney to the northeast and Barry to the northwest. The remaining borders are all Arkansas counties: Boone to the east, Newton to the southeast, Madison to the south and Benton to the west. The county uses as total of eight zip codes, the largest of which is 72616.

Ramona Wilson is the Circuit Court Clerk. The administrative duties of the Circuit Clerk are to maintain a record of all proceedings of the civil, criminal, domestic relations, and juvenile courts; to prepare the dockets for these courts; to issue summonses, subpoenas, writs, and warrants related to each case; and to attend all court sessions. The Circuit Clerk is also responsible for recording and maintaining real property records in Boone County.

Carroll County Records

The Carroll County Circuit Clerk has two different offices – one in Berryville and one in Eureka Springs. All court cases and filings East of Kings River are filed in the Berryville office, while anything West of the Kings river is filed in the Eureka Springs office. Carroll County Marriage License Office
