Boone County, Arkansas Overview
Located in the state of Arkansas, Boone County has a population of about 36,903, according to the US Census Bureau. The county seat is Harrison, and it is also the largest community. It is Arkansas’s 62th county, established in 1869, and not named for frontiersman Daniel Boone, as many believe. It was originally called Boon, since the residents believed it would be a “boon” to all who settled there. The “e” was added to the name later. The total county area is 602 square miles, 590 of which is land and the remaining 12 square miles is water. The county is bordered to the west by Carroll County, to the south by Newton County, and Searcy County to the southeast. Marion County lies to the east and Taney County, Missouri is to the north. The entire county is in the Ozark Mountains. The largest zip code in the county is 72601, and there are eight additional zip codes in use.

As County Court Clerk, Crystal maintains the following records: annexations, incorporations, county purchases, proclamations, levy of taxes, board appointments, bonds, improvement districts, right of way acquisition, contracts and agreements signed by the County Judge.
