Dallas County Recording Office Information

The duties of the Recording Office include the recording of documents, mainly real estate records, indexing and filing a permanent record that is accessible for the general public to view and inspect. The citizen can see all records except military discharges and marriage licenses. The Recording Office is also responsible for maintaining records of documents related to deeds, mortgages, judgments, plats, liens, incorporation, UCCs, power of attorney, and so on.

All documents must be presented in original or certified form to be recorded. Social Security numbers will not be recorded. The individual should conduct all property searches.
