The primary duties of the Clay County Probate Court include filing adoptions, conservators & guardians, declaration of legitimations, involuntary commitment, adult name changes, will instruments, and issuing hunting and fishing licenses. The Judge of the Clay County Probate Court is also the Chief Election Officer of the county. Documents to be recorded at the Probate Judge’s Office should be brought in person or sent through the mail. Documents that are delivered in person will be processed and returned to the individual on the same day. Documents that are mailed will be processed and sent to the individual within 2-3 business days.
